Hard Times

Hard Times tends to monotonous initially but once the reader gets into the thick of the plot, it's interesting and one wonders how the propagators of "facts" become subservient to sentiments and emotions like faith, hope and other mortal feelings. Dickens certainly knows how to weave plots intricately and is ruthless in dealing with his characters who thoroughly live up to their characterizations.
